Removing Spray Tan Stains from Clothes
If you’ve broken one of the cardinal rules of spray tanning –“thou shall not wear tight fitting clothes immediately after receiving a spray on tan” – then you’ll need some help removing the stains. Removing stains from cotton clothing is simple; just run them through the wash with a bit of spot treatment. Synthetic fabrics, like polyester, should be soaked in warm water with pre-treater. If the stain grows faint, then throw it in the wash per usual.
Dry clean only clothing is a bit trickier. Try soaking the garment in warm water with non-bleach spot remover, rinse, and then allow it to air dry. If this does not work, then you’ll need to take the garment to a professional dry cleaner. Make sure to tell them what compounds were in the spray on tan so the cleaner knows how to treat the spot.
