Maintenance For A Sunless Tan

Monday, December 5, 2011
posted by TanNBeautiful

Whether you are a man or a woman tanning is very popular. A glowing tan makes you look younger and let’s face it a hint of color makes everyone look good. The reality is that sunbathing isn’t always available depending on were you live. There are alternatives to sun bathing. For instance, there always tanning salons that you can choose to go to as well as sunless tanning products that are available. Both of these options take a little maintenance.

When you decide to do a sunless tan you want to make sure that you moisturize your entire body especially after showers. Also hydrating is important as well. You want to make sure that you are drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day. Applying sunscreen is also necessary. Of course reapplying the lotion when you notice your tan fading is a given as well.

Baring It All?

Friday, November 4, 2011
posted by TanNBeautiful

Newcomers to spray tanning often ask me this question: Do I have to bare it all? Rest at ease; the answer is no.

Some ladies and gentlemen may feel free enough to go nude during a spray tan session, but it is absolutely not required. You can wear a bathing suit or underwear during the tanning session. If you do choose to wear a bathing suit while in spray tan tents, then you’ll likely be asked to shift straps and waistbands periodically so the technician can make sure you don’t have visible tan lines.

Answers to Common Spray On Tan Questions

Wednesday, October 26, 2011

I’ve been using spray on tans for quite a while now to achieve a healthy glow. As a result, many of my friends consult with me before going to get a tan of their own. One common question I’m often asked is, “Will a spray on tan protect me from the sun?” The answer is unequivocally no! A spray on tan will give you a lovely glow, but you still need to put on sunscreen before spending a day at the beach.

Another common question I hear is, “Is DHA safe?” The answer is yes. DHA is FDA approved, but it doesn’t hurt to read the ingredient list on the spray on tan solution, particularly if you have any allergies or skin sensitivities.

Shop Online for Spray Tan Solution

There are some items that people hesitate to purchase over the internet. Clothing, in particular, comes to mind as many people wish to try on the items prior to purchase. People are also wary of purchasing cosmetic items over the internet. I am of the mindset that if you know what you want, it is often better to purchase online.

For instance, I have spray tan equipment in my home because I enjoy getting an even, all over glow every few weeks. As a result I go through a lot of spray tan solution in a year. Since I already know what brand works best for me, I have found wholesalers online from whom I can purchase in bulk at a low price – much lower than what I can get at a local beauty supply store or salon.

Airbrush Tanning Techniques

Two popular methods of airbrush tanning are booth airbrush tanning and spray hose airbrush tanning. The former is one of the easiest ways to get a healthy sun kissed glow. All you have to do is stand in the booth and let the nozzles spray you from head to toe. This method is ideal for customers who are uncomfortable standing only in their underwear in front of another person.

Spray hose airbrush tanning gives customers a more personalized experience. It is best to have a professional utilize this technique; doing it yourself can lead to blotches and runs. A professional will also have an eye for evening out skin tone. Either technique is a great way to get a healthy tan.

Labor Day Weekend Festivities

Thursday, September 1, 2011
posted by TanNBeautiful

This weekend is Labor Day Weekend aka the unofficial end to the summer season. For one last hurrah before the kids go back to school and I return to work we will venture out to the beach. Before we go, my eldest daughter and I are going to get spray tans.

It will be a nice treat for me and her. She is about to be a senior in high school, which means next fall she’ll be off to college. While the technicians are applying the sunless tanning solution, she and I can have a nice chat. I’m looking forward to our bonding time and to the weekend festivities.

Hawaiian Vacation

Tuesday, August 9, 2011

After saving up for quite some time, I was finally able to take the Hawaiian vacation of my dreams. I opted to visit Oahu, the most visited of the islands. I visited all the famous sites including Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor, and the Polynesian Cultural Center. Of course, I also spent a lot of time on the beach at Waikiki lounging about, swimming, and attempting to surf.

In anticipation of the trip, I bought a few new swimsuits, sarongs, and decorated flip flops. To hide the fact that I work in a sunless office all day, I opted to get a sunless tan from a local mobile sunless tanning company. They gave me a great glow that looked fantastic with my vacation wardrobe.

Getting Rid Of Tan Lines

We’ve all been there before. When planning a tropical vacation we want to pick a bikini that’s flattering without causing obvious tan lines. Full-piece bathing suits are great for swimming laps in the community pool, but a poor choice for sunbathing. When you wear a Lycra bikini you will notice those unsightly folds of fat are smoothed and those droopy bits are supported.

Lycra material has a miraculous effect on hiding embarrassing bulges. So even if your body isn’t perfect you can still wear a bikini-just make sure it’s made from Lycra. You will appreciate the lack of obvious tan by using a sunless spray tan to eliminate lines and feel confident about your sex appeal.

Spray Tan Preparation

To achieve a perfected sun-kissed look, sunless spray tan is the way to go. Before getting a tan there you will need to prepare your skin. Make sure your skin is clean. That means you should not wear perfume, lotion, deodorant, or other products on your body. The ingredients in these items can cause the tanning solution to apply unevenly or the wrong color.

Just prior to your sunless spray tan session, the technician may ask you to put on a hairnet. This will keep the solution from getting into your hair. Barrier cream should be rubbed over your fingernails, cuticles, and any dry skin areas (i.e. elbows and knees). The barrier cream will keep the solution from pooling.

Getting Vacation Ready

Tuesday, July 19, 2011
posted by TanNBeautiful

I live in the Pacific Northwest and even though it’s now mid-July we’re still experiencing what I consider to be spring weather. Most days it’s been slightly breezy and in the 60s – far better than the sweltering 90 plus degrees weather other parts of the country have been experiencing. The cooler weather has kept me in jeans and light sweatshirts thus far, which would be fine except that I’m going to the Southwest on vacation next week.

The weather down south is far hotter and more humid than it is here. I’ve neglected tanning since I’ve been so covered up, so I needed to find a quick solution. Fortunately, I got a great spray tan salon recommendation from a friend. I explained to the technician the color I wanted and she adjusted the DHA levels in the spray tanning solution accordingly. Now that I’ve got a natural looking glow, I’m truly ready for vacation.
