Although its American reincarnation “Skating with the Stars” was a ratings flop, ITV’s “Dancing on Ice” continues to be a hit in the UK. The show’s premise is nearly identical to that of “Dancing with the Stars.” At the start of the season, each professional skater is paired with a celebrity contestant. The couples are tasked with performing an ice dancing routine for each show.
At the end of each performance, a panel of six judges scores the couples on a scale of one to ten. Television viewers have the opportunity to vote for their favorite couple.
