Today’s tip comes from personal experience. A lot of people don’t think about this one either so it has become one of the most common mistakes I’ve seen from people trying to enjoy their spray tanning experience. Before you tan be sure you’ve washed all lotions and creams off of your skin, no matter how long it’s been since you put them on! Lotions and oils can block the solution from penetrating the skin. So whether you’re using a stationary booth or you have a mobile spray tanning system of your own this is something all tanners need to keep in mind.
As you can see this ties in with our first tip from our Tips for Tanning series. Before you tan don’t forget to shower and exfoliate the skin. This practice will also help to ensure the removal of any lingering oils, lotions or creams that may keep the spray tan from achieving the desired effect. Everyone wants to get the most from their money so don’t make this mistake the way I did!
